One Last Hurrah to Summer!
It’s been a whirlwind of a Summer here at Julie & Co. Realty! We’ve been involved in so many Saratoga Springs events that the season flew right by. It’s hard to believe that Fall is already here! But just before we close the book on our Summer, join us as we look back on some of the amazing events we attended.
Equine Advocates Gala 2018
We have several agents here at Julie & Co. who specialize in Farm & Equine Real Estate. A couple of our agents own horses and ride in shows. With that comes a passion for these beautiful creatures that has spread across our Brokerage. We were thrilled to be a part of the fight to end Equine Abuse by attending and supporting the 17th Annual Equine Advocates Gala held at Saratoga Springs’ Canfield Casino.
Equine Advocates is a national non-profit that was founded in 1996. Its mission is to prevent the abuse of horses. It works toward this goal by educating the public and running rescue missions. Many times, law enforcement seize horses, ponies, or donkeys during cruelty investigations. Equine Advocates runs and operates the Equine Advocates Rescue & Sanctuary. When animals are brought to the Sanctuary they have a home for life.
National Museum of Dance Gala 2018
Being a part of Downtown Saratoga gives us the opportunity to be involved in many of the City’s cultural events and celebrations. We were able to enjoy a night of dinner and entertainment to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the School of the Arts at the National Museum of Dance Gala. This event is the Museum’s largest fundraiser. It has become a highlight for the Summer Season in Saratoga.
The School of the Arts and the National Museum of Dance have made it their mission to bring the art of dance to the community, not only through the actual act of dancing but also by preserving the history of dance. They both believe that a love of dance should be accessible to anyone regardless of race, gender, or socioeconomic status. The School of the Arts offers a high level of dance instruction in an environment that fosters enjoyable, low pressure experiences for all involved.
REVEAL Art Fair
Our agents were invited to attend a unique event at the Saratoga Springs City Center. The REVEAL Art Fair was a 5-day affair comprised of a collection of art from nearly 150 modern and contemporary artists from across the globe. The result was incredible and inspiring.
Opening night was certainly something spectacular. An eclectic group of art lovers gathered. As wide spread as the guests were, there was something for everyone to find beauty in. From realist portraits to horses made of driftwood, and everything in between. Half walls and fluorescent lighting created an open and airy feel inside the City Center. There was freedom to move and freedom to stand and stare without being bumped into. Overall, the night was a beautiful representation of what Saratoga Springs can offer. It’s a place that draws in people from around the world.

The Sizzling Hot Pink Saratoga Hat Luncheon
Another event we are proud to support is the Sizzling Hot Pink Saratoga Hat Luncheon. A spectacular display of hats greeted the guests as they walked into the Saratoga Race Course’s At the Rail Pavilion. Men and women gathered for this “Saratogian” way of promoting awareness and raising money for Breast Cancer Awareness.
Play for P.I.N.K. is a National Grassroots organization that supports fundraisers that focus on sporting and lifestyle events. It raises $4.6 million every year and donates 100% of that directly to the Breast Cancer Research Fund. BCRF has earned an A+ rating from Charity Watch and it has the highest rating among Breast Cancer Organizations.
As much as we love the freedom and fun of Summer, we appreciate the structure that Fall brings to our lives. School always brings the level of chaos down a notch or two in our homes. Yes, we say goodbye to the big hats of the track, but we say hello to the warm boots of apple picking.
