Memorial Day 2019

May 17, 2019

Memorial Day is just around the corner. As we all know, the reason we memorialize this day is a somber one. Our society wants to honor those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. We commemorate this day in many ways, but they all boil down to enjoying the freedoms that we have because of the fight that our service men and women have fought on our behalf. There is no right or wrong way to honor our soldiers on this day and that is the point.

This holiday has become one of the most traveled holidays of the year according to AAA. But why go through the hassle of a trip when we have some exciting ways to celebrate right here in the Capital Region?

If you are looking for a traditional way to observe the day, here is a list of some of the area’s parades. Click the links below for more information.
